there is no shortage of options or advice on this topic. bullet, gratitude, goals, refection, productivity journaling.

i enjoy the idea of a couple of lines. i have never been consistent with journaling. when i allow myself to be content with a couple of lines, lines which often seem completely devoid of any meaning or relevance when i read them back, the practice can at times seem futile. eventually though lines come out that do mean something to me. maybe i even start writing a few more lines.

what is the weirdest thing you have ever written in your journal? i have a habit of ripping out pages of my journals that are a reflection on darker times in my life. and i don’t know if this is a healthy thing to do or not. should i be able to look over these pages with acceptance? appreciation for coming out the other side? or at least indifference? what does my impulse to rid myself of painful reminders say about me? that i still have more to process on those subjects? that something might always be painful and thats okay? that i still view vulnerability as somewhat of a weakness rather than strength of character? i really don’t know.

what i do know is that writing things out helps me process whats going on in my life right now, no matter how troubling looking back at it may be. it helped at the time to be completely honest with the page. i guess you could call that type of journaling soc (stream of consciousness) journaling. hit me up if you do this to or something even weirder.

what type of journaling is best? the kind that you are going to do today.
